Ivy & Icecream babies Born 5th September 2025
-

New Born
All eyes stay shut for the first 10-12 days. At first, the babies all look about the same, pink or light grey. As the day passes, their skin color changes a little. Knowing the parents’ genes, I expected any of the 4 tort types, 4 harlequin types, an Orange or Fawn, and a beautiful BEW.
-

New Born Tort
Eyes: Closed
Skin Colour: Warm orange glow & Pink indicating either Agouti Orange or Black/Chocolate tort.
-

New Born BEW
Eyes: Closed but will be blue as known genetics.
Skin colour: Pink all over indicating this baby will be White.
-

New Born Lilac
Eyes: Closed
Skin Colour: Light grey & pink indicating either a Vienna marked Lilac Harlequin or a Vienna marked Lilac/blue tort.
-

New Born Tort
Eyes: Closed
Skin colour: light/brown grey colour indicating a Lilac or blue tort.
-

One Week Old
After just one week, their beautiful coats are starting to appear. Look inside the ears of the kits in the top left and bottom right; they are not white, showing they are torts, not Agouti Orange or Fawn. The kit in the bottom left now has a clear light grey/brown patch and cream, showing it is a Harlequin. And the little white one is our BEW.
-

Vienna Marked Choc or Black Tort
Eyes: Closed
Fur colour: We now have clear orange and white fur. The white comes from the Vienna gene. The orange could suggest Agouti, but since there’s no white inside the ears or on the belly, this bunny is a torted Self. The orange shows it could be chocolate or black.
-

BEW
Eyes: Closed but as above we know these will be blue.
Fur colour: Pure white coat with slightly pink ears. This coat is likely to remain white and not develop colour on the points.
-

Vienna Marked Lilac Harlequin
Eyes: Closed
Fur Colour: It is subtle but there is 3 different colours, white, cream and lilac. Indicating that this bunny is a Vienna Marked Lilac Harlequin, most likely an Agouti varity due to the white inside the ears.
-

Lilac Tort
Eyes: Closed
Fur Colour: A nice fawn shade has appeared. In some light, the ears might look white inside, but in the group photo, both Tort kits show grey/chocolate tones. The light kit's nose is also grey. The subtle color suggests lilac, not blue. If you look closely, a tort has a line where lilac, chocolate, black, or blue meets the orange/fawn on the sides and top.
-

Two Week Old
By two weeks, most kits have their eyes fully open and eagerly begin jumping out of the nest. They start practicing their hopping skills and gradually exploring their surroundings for short periods of time. With each passing day, they grow stronger and their unique personalities begin to shine through more clearly.
-

Vienna Marked Chocolate Tort
Eyes: Blue
Fur colour: Continues to become more striking with obvious orange and white sections and getting fluffier by the day.
Ears: One ear is beginning to flop.
-

Blue Eyed White (BEW)
Eyes: Blue
Fur colour: Pure white
Ears: One ear has completely flopped and the other is beginning too.
-

Vienna Marked Lilac Harlequin
Eyes: I noticed that their eyes had closed after seeing them open a couple of days before. This is common and I helped mum by cleaning them with a warm cotton pad.
Fur colour: On one side we have distinct lilac stripes/patches and on the other smaller round patches.
Ears: Not yet flopping
-

Vienna Marked Lilac Tort
Eyes: Brown
Fur Colour: Beautiful fawn all over with soft lilac on the sides, tail, ears, nose, and eyes. A small white spot is starting to show on the nose which has been created by the Vienna gene.
Ears: Not yet flopping
